Every Maud Moon design comes in three sizes. They are the same artwork, printed and framed to order, so the only question is how much wall you want it to take.

The three sizes
40 x 60 cm (16 x 24 in)
The quiet one. It suits a shelf, a hallway, a wall beside a window, or a spot where something larger would crowd the room. Two of them side by side work better than one on a wide wall.
60 x 90 cm (24 x 36 in)
The one most people choose. It reads clearly above a cot, a dresser or a desk without dominating the room, and it is the size that photographs best in a small space.
80 x 120 cm (32 x 48 in)
For a bare wall where you want the piece to be the room. Above a sofa, above a bed, or on a wall with nothing else on it. It needs about 150 cm of clear wall to breathe.
How to judge it before you order
- Measure the clear wall, not the whole wall. Furniture, sockets and light switches all count as edges.
- Take two thirds. A single piece above furniture looks right at roughly two thirds of the width of that furniture. Above a 130 cm dresser, that points at 60 x 90.
- Tape it out. Stick the outline on the wall with masking tape and leave it a day. It costs nothing and it settles the argument.
How high to hang it
Hang the centre of the piece at eye height, which is about 145 cm from the floor. Above furniture, leave 20 to 25 cm between the top of the furniture and the bottom of the frame. In a child's room you can go a little lower, around 135 to 140 cm, because you spend most of your time in that room sitting down.
Hanging two together
A pair hangs as one thing when the gap between the frames is 5 to 8 cm. Keep the centres level, not the tops, and treat the pair as a single rectangle when you centre it on the wall. The collection Hang Them in Twos gathers the works that were made looking at each other.
What you receive
Whichever size you pick, it arrives as a framed canvas, ready to hang. Hanging hardware is not included. The full specification is on the canvas and frames page.
